Irina Osetskaya

Irina Osetskaya

Irina Osetskaya is geboren in St. Petersburg in Rusland in 1969.

Born in 1969 in St. Petersburg Irina Osetskaya learned to play the piano from three years on, taught by her mother, a professional cellist and pianist. She attended the Conservatorial Music College and the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, where she graduated in 1995. Invited to study at the Prince Claus Conservatoire of Groningen in the Netherlands she moved there in 1996 and graduated with Paul Komen in 1998. Irina is employed by the Prince Claus Conservatoire Groningen as accompagnist and coach. She also teaches piano to private pupils and often gives masterclasses piano and chamber music. She has succesfully established herself as a coach of young talented musicians, especially at (inter)national music competitions like the Dutch Prinses Christina Concours. Irina regularly gives recitals as solist, with ensembles and as accompagnist with professional collegues on piano, fortepiano and other keyboards.

In 2018 Irina discovered a passion for the trumpet. Her teacher is Willem Frieswijk and she is a member of the Orchestra Bad Zwischenahn. Being extremely fysically committed, playing a wind instrument is a completely new musical experience. Patiently practicing precise articulation and controling the lenght as well as the color of sound, she discovered new insights on making any kind of music.
